Whilst browsing through old posts a couple of days ago (cringe) I came across a feature that I used to love putting together each week. Old time followers will remember 'Sitting Pretty Styles' very well, I'm sure! Each week I would style a certain garment or look with items from some of my favourite online shops. Seeing all my old posts made me want to give it another whirl, but this time it won't be so frequent. Just a one off every now and again!
After drooling over pretty much everyone's outfits at Coachella the past couple of days, I thought I would get in the festival mood (even though I won't be going to anyone. I can dream) and put together a few outfits. Seeing as it's England and not always the best of weather to put it lightly, festival outfits over here aren't quite as glamorous as those abroad, but I think the three I've created are pretty darn good if I do say so myself!
Look 1
I'm a huge fan of the whole American college/ varsity thing going on at the minute, and I'm sure the trend will be sticking round for a while. The over sized tees and retro prints are perfect festival wear, teamed with ripped denim shorts and sports socks. For this look I wanted to give it a bit of an edgier feel rather than the typical varsity look, so I added a leather waistcoat with plenty of fringing (a must for festivals, so it may seem) and some gorgeous embroidery. To continue the colour theme I've teamed the outfit with bright red Hunter wellies - another Festival staple judging by previous years - and a pretty floral headband. Finish off with a crochet over the shoulder bag and what could have been a high school throwback/dodgy cheerleading outfit is actually something cool and quirky all rolled into one!
Look 2
For the second look I wanted to go for something a bit more glamorous, but still keeping it simple and easy to wear. I've been after one of the little lace crop tops for a while and the grey colour teamed with a gorgeous rose detail kaftan makes for such a pretty pairing. To dress the two down, I've gone for some high waisted roll up shorts and a pair of graphite wellies over chunky knee high socks. Throw on a pair of 60s style oversized sunnies to hide the signs of a late night and keep you looking chic!

Finally I wanted to create something really girly with a sort of seventies boho/hippie vibe to it. I spied the lovely yellow summer dress and knew exactly what I wanted to pair it with. I picked out a gorgeous crochet top to throw over the dress, and matching yellow socks to tie everything together. To grunge the whole thing up a little and bring it bang up to date, I've added some Chelsea style wellies and a leather look bag for a contrast. Finished off with a straw trilby and some classic tortoise shell wayfarer shades, this is definitely my favourite of all the three outfits!
What do you think of the looks I've put together? What will you be wearing at this year's festivals?
