CHINA BLUE

I love shooting outfit photos when the sun is just starting to go down as it gives such pretty lighting in the pictures. A balmy summer evening was the perfect setting my my lovely new dress. You all know I love a good floral print, but I've never owned anything in this colourway before, and I'm starting to wonder why on earth not! There's something about a blue and white print that instantly reminds me of china that my mum has, and this dress is the exact same shades of blue. It was a little cool to wear it on it's own so I had to throw a jacket over the top, but I did do a few shots without it to show you how lovely the neckline is. It's a really nice off-the-shoulder slashed neck, which isn't something I would normally go for, but it turns out it's super flattering!

I think the dress would look lovely for an evening out for dinner and drinks if I styled it a little differently. I'd throw over my off white vintage blazer and slip on a pair of nude heels to keep it simple and let the print take centre stage. I love the fact that it's a stretchy jersey fabric yet such a feminine cut as it makes it so easy to dress up or down. I'm now on the hunt for more blue and white prints like this! A pair of high waisted shorts would be pretty darn perfect!

How would you style a dress like this one?

  3. This is such a gorgeous colour, I love Quiz! You've styled this beautifully. I think it would also look great with a pair of boots too :)
