CUT OUT KIMONO

I love balmy evenings like the ones we're having at the minute, as it means I can shoot some outfit photos later on in the day and get some done after work too! Usually I just put outfit posts together at the weekends, but I've been able to squeeze a few more in whilst the weather's been a bit better lately. Is anyone else finding that?
Anyhow, I wanted to show you this gorgeous outfit I got with some vouchers I was very kindly given my the lovely folks at New Look. I'm all over the kimono trend at the moment, and I've been after a simple one in a comfy, stretchy fabric rather than a silky one for a while. I spotted this jersey one online and had to have it. It's really soft and I love the handkerchief hem and cut out detail at the back. Plus there's teeny little pom poms all the way along the hem - how cute?!

I love the way the kimono looks over the chiffon floral playsuit - it's the kind of outfit I'd wear if I was lucky enough to be going to a festival this summer, but I guess Preston will do for now! I actually had a playsuit like this two or three years ago that I took on holiday to Rhodes but sold when we got home. It's something I always regret getting rid of, so this one fills the hole that one left behind!
I finished the look off with what I like to call ugly pretty sandals. I really like gladiator style sandal shape with lots of buckles and strap details. These ones are different to most I've seen on the high street this season which is what attracted me to them. They're ridiculously comfy too which is a bonus! I really want to pick up the red pair too now as they'd look really nice with light washed denim.

Whilst browsing New Look for some new Summer bits and pieces, I had a nosey at the blog, NL Daily for some style inspiration an did this fun little quiz! It asks you a series of questions to see what your ideal holiday destination would be. It got me down to a 'T' with Barbados - yes please! I love nothing more than relaxing and soaking up the sun on my hols, and a beach break like this would be so perfect.

What would your dream holiday destination be? Will you be packing your kimonos for the summer hols?

  4. You look lovely Claire! Loving the pom pom details, I'm definitely appreciating it staying lighter for longer at night now, previously it was a bit of a mad dash to get any photos taken! x
