THE TROPICAL TWO-PIECE

First off, apologies for the lack of outfit posts this week. Those of you who follow me on Twitter may have seen my status on Wednesday about my back. I've been suffering with hayfever and a full-on cold for most of the week, and to make matters worse I put my back out whilst at work on Wednesday, by sneezing. Sneezing! Of all the things you can do to hurt your back, I had to go and do it the most stupid, pathetic way. Let's just say I've been pretty much sofa bound for the past four days, as I couldn't even straighten my body out enough to sleep in the bed. I have honestly never felt pain like it, and after a few sleepless nights, a lot of painkillers and some rather questionable walking positions, I can finally stand up straight(ish) today! It still hurts when I've been stood or sat in the same position for any length of time, and doing mundane things like putting shoes on, getting dressed and getting in and out of the shower are somewhat an art, but I'm on the mend and could finally get out and shoot some photos this afternoon!

Crop Top - iKrush*
Shorts - iKrush*
Denim Shirt - Topman
Sandals - Primark
Toes - Barry M Gelly Paint in Pomegranate
Rings - Pandora, Primark, Rhodes

To mark the occasion, I decided to wear a gorgeous new two piece from iKrush. You all know how much I love a good two piece, but I'm super picky about the shape and fit of them. This one is just right for me, with slightly fitted, high waisted shorts and a loose cropped tee that isn't too cropped, and shows an acceptable amount of my constant food baby (note to self: must get back to the gym asap!) without making me feel self conscious. I really love the tropical print too, as it's not like any I've seen on the high street at the minute. The colours are lovely and I like the whole mirrored symmetrical style of the print.
I teamed the co-ord with Dan's denim shirt, that is slowly but surely making it's way across to my wardrobe and makes the perfect lightweight cover up when it's too warm for a jacket. I also wore some new sandals from Primark which are Birkenstock copies for a fraction of the price! These were just £5 and I've got a pair in black too. I couldn't resist!

What do you think of this look? Have you been wearing two pieces this summer?

  2. Ouch, that sounds awful with your back, at least you're on the mend now. I have awful hayfever this year too!
The two piece is lovely, I just love the cut and the colours. Two pieces are one of my favourite trends right now, I love how dressy they can look while taking the effort out of deciding what to wear!
Those shoes are great too, I can't believe they're from Primark! I'll have to keep an eye out for them :)

  3. This outfit is lovely, I have actually been eyeing it up on the iKrush website already, I love it with the denim shirt! Hope your back is feeling better, I have been suffering with lower back pain recently (though not to the extent that you have - ouch) and it is just horrible, you can't do anything. Hope you have a better week this week - I'm not a hayfever sufferer but my boyfriend is so I can see how horrible it is! xo
