Time is flying by this year without me realising it, so when another month is over it takes me a good few days for it to sink in, hence why my favourites always come a little later than planned! This month has been pretty good in terms of products, with lots of newness taking pride of place on my dressing table and bathroom shelves. Let's get straight in to it and see what made the cut in August!
Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream - This is a God send for my tired eyes and has fast become my Holy Grail eye cream (super high praise there!). I was given a few samples of this when I visited my local Benefit counter back in July, and became hooked on it straight away. I can literally see this change the appearance of my under eyes as soon as I apply it, and using this has reduced the amount of concealer I wear. Obsessed!!
The Body Shop 'Honey Bronze' Bronzing Gel For Face - I mentioned this briefly in one of my Make Up For Pale Skin posts, and can't say enough about it. Being a girl of a rather white complexion, bronzer can be a scary thing. This one is a liquid/gel formula which blends down to a really subtle sheen, perfect for when you just need a pop of colour and a healthy glow!
Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm - This is a basic in anybody's beauty collection, but for me it's one that has only just made it there thanks to Glossybox! I've always been a Vaseline girl and had never tried this before until it appeared in one of my recent boxes, and it's become my new favourite lip balm, hands down! I use this before I go to sleep and wake up with smooth, soft lips. It's also great underneath a bold lipstick.
Figs & Rouge Hand Cream in Mango & Mandarin - This is another Glossybox discovery and one that's made it's way in to my handbag very quickly! This is a gorgeous hand cream that leaves my skin feeling silky soft and smells delicious too! A great size tube to throw in your bag and keep handy when dry skin sets in.
Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick in Pout - I love a good nude lipstick for day to day wear, and this one is lovely. It's a really creamy consistency and goes on like a dream. I love that it's not your typical 'concealer' nude, as it has a nice pinky tone to it. It's one of those 'your lips but better' shades that is perfect for when you want a light pop of colour without going all out!
Neal's Yard Rejuvenating Frankincense Refining Cleanser - I saw this recommended by a couple of Youtubers recently, and seeing as my Liz Earle cleanser was nearing the end of the bottle, I decided to try this one out. I've been wanted a new cleanser to give my skincare routine a bit of a shake up, and I'm really glad I found out about this one. It's a little on the pricey side at £19.50, but I think it's worth it. I'd describe it as Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish's older sister. It has a more grown up scent, though application is very similar. This has helped clear my skin and kept pores unclogged, so I'm a happy bunny!
The Little Bubble Co. Ginger Spiced Tart Bubble Bath & Shower Gel - This is something that Dan actually picked up for me when we needed a new shower gel, and he definitely did good! I love bath and shower products that smell good enough to eat and indulgent, and this one certainly fits the bill. It smells like fresh ginger cake, and a little goes a long way. He picked this up in Waitrose but I'm sure you can get it elsewhere!
The Body Shop Body Butter in Raspberry - This smells heavenly! If you love a good fruity scent then you need to get yourself a tub of this pronto! I'm a huge fan of The Body Shop's Body Butters (five tubs and counting) and when I saw this new addition to the summer collection I just had to have it. I've got the scrub too which looks and feels just like raspberry jam! I'm not sure if these are limited edition for summer, so if you see them grab them while you can!
Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask - I actually got these as part of a gift set when I restocked my GinZing Moisturiser, and I'm hooked! These little pods of charcoal mask are the perfect size to cover the face, and my skin feels super squeaky clean when I wash these off.
Those are the products I've been loving throughout August, and probably the first time that every single item has been newly purchased! I usually have a few old favourites thrown in there too, but this month was one for the newbies, obviously!
What have you enjoyed using in August? Send me the links to your favourites posts!
