You all know how much I love the Primark PS... Beauty range, so it's no surprise that when I spotted some new pieces that I didn't have in my collection I just had to snap them up! This beautiful Illuminate Me palette full of pretty highlighters was one of the main things that caught my eye, particularly because of it's gorgeous rose gold packaging, but mainly for the bargain price of just £4!
I'll be honest, I wasn't really expecting amazing things from this as I've often found the lower priced cream beauty products similar to this haven't really packed a punch, but I've actually been really pleasantly surprised!
The texture of these is super smooth, so smooth in fact that I ditched the brush I was about to use to apply them with and simply applied the product with my fingers as it was so easy to do! The palette comes with a handy guide of where to apply the colours, which I loosely follow, applying the palest shade 'Platinum' to the inner corners of my eyes, the softest nude shade 'Royal Gold' down the centre of my face, nose, brow bones and the top of the cheekbones, and a mixture of the two pink shades, 'Renaissance Gold' and 'Dusty Pink' to the apples of my cheeks to give my usual blusher a nice subtle sheen. I then use a tiny amount of the darkest shade 'Antique Bronze' either side of my nose for a subtle contour. I don't use it as a contour anywhere else as I prefer to use a matte powder under my cheek bones and around my forehead.
L-R: Platinum, Royal Gold, Renaissance Gold, Antique Bronze, Dusty Pink
I'm so impressed with how these look on the skin. I'm not a big lover of a really obvious highlight, so the fact that they aren't too shimmery or heavy is perfect, especially on pale skin tones. I love the subtle sheen it gives to my face, and I really like how easy they are to use, plus the packaging is an absolute dream for the price. Staying power obviously isn't as amazing as higher priced products, but that's to be expected. The palette is super lightweight and easy to throw in your bag for top ups on the go (it even has a mirror!).
Huge thumbs up from me! I can't wait to show you some of the other items I picked up from the collection soon. What are your favourites from the Primark beauty range?
