As all of you will know I am a little obsessed with Instagram. I post on there most days, and of course I have my Weekly Snapshot posts here on the blog, so when I was introduced to Printic, I was pretty excited! Printic is an App for the iPhone that allows you to quickly order polaroid images straight from your phone in a matter of minutes. I was very kindly given 6 credits to try out the service, so I got to choosing my images straight away. Printic isn't just for your Instagram photos. You can get any photo from your phone printed, but I love Instagram's Vintage-esque effects so I thought they would be perfect for the polaroid shape prints.
Once I had downloaded the free app through the App Store, I set up my account which was super quick and easy, and started selecting my images. Printic accesses all of your albums through the app itself, so you simple tap the ones you want to print and then proceed to the next stage. When you're happy with your selection you will be shown a price for your order and a preview of what each image will look like so you can be sure you're happy before continuing. You then simply check out, and wait for your prints to come through the post! This great little video shows you exactly what to do.
Delivery is free, and photos are €0.79 each which equates to roughly 70p a print. Personally I think this is a great price as the effect is lovely, the quality is great, and it works out a hell of a lot cheaper than buying actual Polaroid film! I'm actually planning on getting some more printed over the next few weeks from way back when Dan and I first met, right up until now and putting them all into one big frame as a bit of a timeline. (You'd be surprised how much we have changed in seven years!)
My prints arrived within a few working days and were presented nicely in a little Printic envelope (notice the orange theme throughout the app and packaging. Very nice touch!) and were all perfect. As I said, the quality is brilliant with a nice glossy finish, and they have a really unique feel to them. These are great keepsakes and a nice alternative to the usual 6x4 photos. I know it's a little early to be talking about Christmas, but these would be brilliant as a purse friendly stocking filler!
Massive thank you to Printic for letting me try out the service. I think you've found yourself a very loyal customer for the future in me!Have you used Printic? Do you like Polaroid style prints?
I may just have to get some of these to jazz up my uni room when I (hopefully) go in September.
