After spotting this dress online and falling in love, followed by numerous trips to my local Topshop seeing it staring at me from the rails, I decided I had resisted temptation far to long and took the plunge. The Topshop 'Crayon Forest Midi Skirt' is such a lovely, summery lightweight fabric and sits beautifully, with two dramatic slits up the front sides. I couldn't wait to wear it today and have had lots of compliments so far. It's a skirt that's really easy to style, going nicely with many colours, but today I paired it with a simple grey tee and vintage belt to cinch in and define my waist, keeping the whole look focused on the skirt itself. There is actually a matching little crop top to this if you wanted to wear it as a two piece, but I decided to leave that on the rails as I'm not quite ready to bare my stomach! It would be a great alternative to a dress or two piece suit for a special occasion, or the perfect holiday look for a meal out in the evening, so it may be added to my wardrobe soon, we shall see!

I'm really impressed with Topshop at the minute. There seems to be a lot of jersey and collegiate inspired pieces in their main trend that I'm not overly keen on, (especially since most of them are cropped) but once you get past that and dig a little deeper into the rails there are some great finds to be had. I had to stop myself from picking things up when I popped in on my lunch break yesterday. Too much temptation!
What do you think of this skirt? How would you style it?
You look wonderful Claire! That skirt is so lovely, and such a stunning pattern too! I love how you've styled it and it looks awesome with your grey tee! xxx
