I can't quite get over the fact that it's July already and we're over half way through the year! It only seems like a few weeks ago I was shopping for Christmas presents and stocking up on wooly jumpers! How time flies. Anyhow, the end of the month means another bunch of favourites to show you and this month there are some real good'uns! I've been trying out quite a lot of new stuff lately so naturally I've got plenty to show you. I went through a phase where I spent pretty much zero money on beauty products before we moved in to the flat a few months back, but now I've been bitten by the bug again and have found myself at the beauty counters on a number of occasions!
Lush Big Sea Salt Shampoo - Now I've only just bought this but I've been using up a few sample pots I had throughout the month and just had to invest in the full size version. If you're a Lush fan then odds are you've already tried this, but if you've not heard of it before, it's basically a shampoo made mostly from rock salt. It sounds completely odd and it feels it too when you first apply it, but trust me, once the salt has dissolved and it lathers up, it has the most amazing smell. It leaves my hair feeling super clean and volumised, but a couple of things to be wary of: don't use it too often as salt can be pretty drying to the hair, and be sure to use a really good conditioner afterwards as it can leave the hair quite tangled!
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Exfoliating Pads - These are a bit of a blast from the past for me as I used to be obsessed with these throughout my teens. I've found that my skin has been quite problematic lately and remembered that this range used to work wonders for my teenage spots so I thought I'd give it another go. I'm loving these as they gently exfoliate and leave the skin feeling really fresh. I use these after my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish in the evening, followed by...
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Night Treatment Gel - This used to be another of my favourites and I'm so glad it's back in my life! I put a light layer of this on my face and neck after cleansing before bed instead of a moisturiser, and find that my skin feels silky smooth and clean when I (eventually) wake up in the morning.
St Tropez Bronzing Mousse* - Being a girl who's always been hooked on gradual tans, I usually steer clear of 'actual' fake tan. As you know I'm super pale, so tan scares me massively as I've had some horror stories relating to streaks and orange hands! I was kindly sent this one to try out without realising I was actually getting it, and admittedly it's been sat in my bathroom untouched for months. That was until the sun came out over the past couple of weeks and I decided to be brave and give it a whirl. I was so impressed with how easy this was to apply (with a mitt... no orange fingers!) and how natural it looked. This is definitely my new favourite and I think I'm a little hooked already!
Moroccan Oil Intense Hydrating Mask* - I won't go on about this one as I reviewed it here last week, but I will say this is by far my favourite ever conditioning product. A little on the expensive side but well worth the price tag as it blooming amazing!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Correcting Concealer* - I'm usually very wary of Bourjois products as a lot of them are perfumed which can play havoc with my sensitive skin, however I've not had any problems with this one. It's a really lovely consistency and the colour is perfect for under my eyes. I don't use it on my blemishes as I find the colour a little yellow for them, but it's great for hiding those dark circles!
Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue: Escape To Panarea - I came across this by chance recently and fell in love at first spray! Believe it or not I've never actually smelt the original Light Blue before but if this one is anything to go by then I'm sure I'll love that one too!
Benefit Gimme Brow - Oh my goodness! This has got my be my favourite favourite of the month by a mile. Forever a powder lover when it comes to eyebrows, this was a huge step out of my comfort zone, but the rave reviews grabbed my attention and I just had to have it. I've used it ever day since I bought it and love the results. It add just the amount of colour to fill my brows in, and sets them in to place without being crispy. I'm seriously hooked!
Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder - I still haven't got round to repurchasing my favourite Mac Mineralise Skin Finish, so I've been buying drugstore alternatives until I get round to it. This was only a few pounds and really does the trick. I use it on my T Zone to keep my skin from getting oily throughout the day, and because it's so light it doesn't go cakey. I'd definitely recommend this is your looking for something that won't break the bank.
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blueberry - My love for these polishes continues to grow and this shade is just beautiful! I'm always a little wary of colours like blue and green on the nails as I think they can look a little odd against my skin tone, but this is a lovely shade that compliments my colouring nicely. It's what I'd call a 'milky' almost cornflower blue, with a slight lilac tone to it. I love it so much and I'm planning to get a couple more shades this weekend!
Phew! There was a lot more there than I first thought! I hope you liked seeing which products I've been loving throughout June. I'd love to see what your favourite beauty bits are at the moment so be sure to share your post or video links below. Also if you'd recommend me to try anything new out then give me a shout!
Great picks! I love Gimme Brow!
