PINK POPPIES

This weekend kicked off with a great start, as I'm now off work for a week and woke up to more sunshine, hurrah! We decided to head off to Avenham Park in Preston for a Vintage and Craft Fair, where I saw my lovely friend Steph of Lily & The Lamplight and got yet another two piece from her! Expect to see some photos of that very soon! We had a wander round the park and figured it would be the perfect place to take some outfit photos, so we got to snapping! Avenham Park is such a beautiful place, especially in Summer. It's full of beautiful flowers and architecture, and runs alongside the river. Whenever I go it really makes me appreciate where we live, as Preston isn't always perceived as the nicest place, but with hidden gems like this it's actually a really great place. Anyhow, enough waffling! On to the outfit...

Aren't these just the prettiest shorts you've ever seen? I got these from House Of Fraser as part of a challenge to create a look for under £30. When I first got asked I was a little skeptical as I wasn't sure just how far £30 would stretch there, but when I got digging in the sale section and amongst some of their High Street brands, I was pleasantly surprised! I was actually a few pounds short of £30 so was actually pretty pleased with myself! I love the shorts, tee and sunglasses combo that I chose and think it makes the perfect summer outfit. The t shirt is one that I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of. It's on the heavy side, almost scuba fabric, so it will fit perfectly in to my Autumn wardrobe too as a transitional piece, but it will also be perfect for work with some smart trousers. Win, win! 

We're heading to York tomorrow for a few days which I am super excited about. I'm hoping to get lots of photos whilst we're there, and maybe review some great places to eat out that we'll be going to. It's literally my favourite place to go, and if the weather holds up it will be just perfect. I can't wait!!
