As you can probably tell from my back catalogue of outfit posts, I'm just as happy dressed in a pair of Converse and jeans as I am in a pretty dress and heels. When Cloggs got in touch and asked me to be part of their 'Be Individual' campaign and customise a pair of Converse, I was super excited to get started on creating my very own! I selected a pair of the classic low All Star's and received a pack of fabric pens to set my creativity flowing. As you all know, I love a good print, whether that be floral, polka dots or something a little more intricate, so I knew straight away I wanted to cover them in some pretty patterns.
After scouring Pinterest for a while for some inspiration, I decided I wanted to go with something quite detailed, yet keep it simple in one shade. Sticking to a baby blue shade, I got to work covering the outer sides with a leafy pattern, steering away from a typical floral print. Then I worked on the tongues of the shoes and doodled away at a Moroccan inspired design, with lots of swirls, stripes and petals to make it different from the rest of the pattern.
Jacket - Topshop
Knitted Tunic - H&M
Jeans - Joni at Topshop
Fedora - Primark
Converse - Cloggs*
Fabric Pens - Dylon at Hobbycraft*
I'm so pleased with how they turned out, considering I just put pen to fabric and didn't actually plan a design out beforehand. I do almost wish there was a black fabric pen in the box as the design would look so good in a darker shade, but I think the pale blue shade looks great nonetheless and makes them quite subtle. I've definitely been bitten by the crafty bug!
How would you customise your Converse?
