Over the past few years, the contents of my make up bag have switched up a heck of a lot, but I've finally found products that agree with my skin, suit my colouring and give a nice finish despite my slap dash application skills! I thought it was about time I did one of these posts to show you the products I swear by, and what I tend to carry around with me in my bag on a daily basis. It might seem quite a lot of stuff, but I don't actually wear all of this at once. These are just my necessities for creating a few different looks for any occasion!
I'm sure you will have spotted the majority of these products in my Monthly Favourites posts throughout the year, so I won't go in to too much detail about everything. One thing to note is that I don't tend to carry around that much eye make up with me. I love a good eyeshadow as much as the next girl, but they tend to be something I only really wear when I'm going out in the evening or on a special occasion. I'm not a morning person at all, so make up has to be quick and simple for me to apply when I get up, otherwise I'm in front of the mirror for far too long, and before you know I've no time left to do anything else!
The Face:My absolute favourite foundation is Vichy Dermablend in the shade Opal. This is what you will see on my face most days, as it's my go to product for a flawless finish. If I'm feeling a little flush you may see NARS Sheer Glow in the shade Mont Blanc creeping it's way in there, but more often than not, Vichy is the star of the show. I also swear by the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair for those pesky dark circles and blemishes (who doesn't?!).If I have the time then I also go in with some bronzer in the form of The Body Shop's Honey Bronze gel, then to set the base I powder down the centre of my face with MAC Mineralise Skin Finish Natural in Medium. Finally I like to pat a little of the Kryolan For Glossybox Highlighter in Cashmere across the tops of my cheeks and inner corners of the eyes, then dust a little NARS blusher in Orgasm on the apples of my cheeks!
The Eyes:
As I said, I don't really go to town on my eyes very often, so my regular products are pretty bog standard.I always keep a good mascara with me and at the minute I'm loving L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes for a lovely fluttery finish. Depending on how long I have to get ready, I like to apply some eyeliner (I'm partial to a bold feline flick at the outer corners of the eyes!) in the form of Benefit's They're Real Push Up Liner. Finally I like to tame my brow with a little Benefit Gimme Brow for extra definition and to keep them in place!
The Lips:
This is the category that probably changes up the most in my make up bag as I tend to go through stages where I like wearing different colours or finishes. I like to carry a few different shades to suit any look or occasion, usually a pinky nude, a mid pink and a red. At the moment I have Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick in Pout, MAC Lipstick in Sunny Seoul and Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Coromandel. I also carry Avon's Ultra Glazewear Lip Gloss in Iced Pink if I want more of a glossy plump finish, and the Classic Carmex Lip Balm, a make up bag staple!
So that's everything that's in my make up bag right now, and probably for the foreseeable future. I'll no doubt be switching up the lip colours as we get further in to Winter and opting for some darker plum shades, and maybe swap the NARS blush for a more matte, subtle option, but everything else will no doubt stay put.
What are your make up bag essentials? Show me what's in your make up bag too!
ooh! I love to see what others carry around in their make-up bag <3 and you've got some lovely bits in there! I heart my gimme brow and push up liner but i really want to buy some nars!!!
