If you want to know the way to my heart, it's definitely through food, no question of a doubt. I'm a girl who loves everything from a super healthy Pret salad right to the other end of the spectrum where you'll find kebabs and pizzas in abundance. I love food, but sadly I'm now at that age where food can find its way to my hips/stomach/thighs with ease, so I'm starting my so far failed attempt at a diet next week. Don't get me wrong, I love healthy food and when I get in to it, I'm one of those weird people who actually enjoys eating well and gets a strange satisfaction when I remember to log my calories in MyFitnessPal at the end of each day, but since all diets seem to start on Monday, I decided I'd better make the most of this weekend and booked us a table at one of my favourite spots to eat in Preston, Burgers 'N' Bibs.
That's right. Bask in all it's glory for a moment.
Burgers 'N' Bibs is pretty new to Preston, and if you're familiar to the area, you'll find it downstairs in the Rift&Co bar, which used to be Revolution. It's hidden away down a little alleyway, but that doesn't stop it from being already ridiculously popular. This was my second visit and both times they've been pretty busy, so definitely book a table if you can.
When it comes to what's on the menu, the name basically says it all. It's an American style burger joint, not too dissimilar to the kind of thing you'd see on Man V Food, and definitely not like anything we've ever had in Preston before. Whatever you order, it's going to get messy, so a word of advice, don't bother applying any lipstick beforehand, ladies!
We started off with the drinks, both opting for one of the BNB Shakes as we are both super greedy, and omg, these were incredible! I had strawberry and Dan had chocolate. Both were delicious but I'd say personally that strawberry took the crown. It was creamy and sweet and topped with strawberry syrup and man ,I could drink one again right now. I'd recommend giving these a try!
On my last visit, my friend and I had the Waffle Fry Nachos which were incredible, and I insited that Dan had to try them so we ordered a portion to share (FYI, this is enough for two people. We struggled with our mains after this, even though we shared!). The best way to describe this, is a bowl of carby, meaty, cheesy goodness. It's those little criss cross fries, covered in tasty beef chilli, cheese sauce, grated cheese and jalapenos, with guacamole and sour cream on the side, and it was heaven.

For the main, I went for the Sweet Cure Maple burger, which I had last time and loved. It's an 8oz beef patty on a brioche bun, with a couple of rashers of bacon, amazing bacon flavoured jam, cheese sauce and all the usual salad trimmings. It's topped off with a pickle and a little pig in blanket, and it's one of the best burgers I've ever had, no lie! So good I've ordered it twice, but definitely a knife and fork job, unless you want bacon jam for contour and cheese sauce highlight.
Dan went for the Dirty Cow, which was a beefy masterpiece, no less. Two 8oz beef patties, beef chilli and melted cheese sauce, in a brioche bun and topped with two crispy onion rings. I didn't get a shot of this one close up as I was too busy marvelling at my own, but you can see it in the background of the photo below, and it looks SO. GOOD.
Sadly, our eyes were bigger than our bellies and we couldn't finish our mains, but the nacho starter was too good to pass by. Next time I think we'll skip the starter, then maybe we might have room to try a dessert...
Have you tried Burgers 'N' Bibs in Preston yet? You can also find them in Harrogate and and Hanley in Rift&Co bars, so I'd recommend giving them a try if you live near to one. I'm already trying to plan my next visit, but first I need to work off that shake!
