WE'RE ENGAGED!

So I may have been a little MIA recently, but it's all for one very exciting reason! If you follow my social media accounts you will probably have already seen the news, but if  not, then here it is! Whilst we were away on our holidays, Dan got down on one knee and popped the question, and I'm sure by now you've guessed that I of course said yes!!

Dan and I have been together for ten whole years now, and on our anniversary, on the beautiful sandy beach whilst out for a stroll in the morning sun, he asked me to marry him, and made me cry like the biggest baby for an embarrassing amount of time. I was a huge blubbering wreck and full of happy tears, so much so that any photos taken afterwards had to be changed to black and white to hide the blotchy cheeks of my makeup-less face (attractive). Aside from the mess that is me, the proposal was absolutely perfect, the ring is a beauty and I couldn't have asked for him to do it in a more stunning place. He knows me so well!

It's been such a magical few weeks and I literally could burst with happiness. Telling our friends and families has been amazing and emotional after keeping it a secret for almost two weeks whilst we were away (don't ask me how - I was ready to burst after a couple of hours and told anyone who would listen on holiday because I was that excited).

I can't wait to get stuck in to the planning. We already have an idea of where we would like it to take place, and my Pinterest board is out of control (I won't lie, it has been for years) but I won't be making it public just yet as I'd like to keep things to just us for a little while whilst we get the wheels in motion. We won't be getting married until 2018 as there's a lot of saving to do, so nearer the time I will let you all in on what our plans are, and when things draw closer I'll definitely be doing some wedding planning posts to show you things we love and things we buy or make for the big day, but for now we're just enjoying our news!
