WINTER WARMERS

Some days, only a cosy coat and ridiculously sized scarf will do. This weekend has been so cold and wet and foggy, so naturally I decided to go outside.... Good one Claire! All in the name of keeping up my resolutions, I dragged Dan out to shoot some photos of my outfit, and it's one of my favourite combos of jeans, shirt and trainers for ultimate weekend comfort.

The coat is one that I picked up in the ASOS sale just before Christmas, after searching high and low for a camel coat for months. The ones I found were too fussy around the collar, too long or not the right fabric, but I spotted this boyfriend fit one with it's oversized cocoon shape at a bargain price and just had to have it. I've worn it so much already and love the way it looks with my huge Anthropologie scarf as the colours fit perfectly!

To add a bit of colour to the look I went for a trusty blue pinstripe shirt that I've had for a while now from Topshop, but these kind of shirts are always available on the high street. I love how it looks worked in to a casual look, as it usually only gets worn for the office! I paired the shirt with failsafe black skinny jeans and slipped on my favourite trainers, my Adidas Stan Smiths for added comfort and to add to the preppy tomboy style of the rest of the outfit.

I feel like I've been wearing these trainers to death lately, partly because I lived in heels over the Christmas break for all the festivities and my feet were ready for being closer to the ground, but also because they're just so easy to wear! I'm thinking of picking up a couple more versions of Stan Smiths over the coming months, especially for Summer, in baby blue to tie in with my blue obsession that I have right now, and maybe even a metallic pair!

Also something I want to talk about for a moment is how good Primark's jewellery collection is at the minute! You can't see it on many of these photos because, you know, scarf. But I'm wearing a tiny fine gold choker with a sweet little triangle on it and I love it so much! It was part of a pack of 5 or 6 chokers for a measly few pounds and I am so impressed. All of the designs I got look so much more expensive than they were, and I'm sure you'll be seeing all of them sooner rather than later!
