ALCHEMY OIL | GRAPEFRUIT HAIR REMEDY

As I'm sure most of you know by now, I'm a big fan of finding products to care for my bleached locks. Since going blonde back in April 2012, my hair has changed quite a lot when it comes to texture, natural style and manageability. I used to be able to leave my hair to dry naturally and was blessed with tumbling curls, but two years on, if I do the same I end up with what can only be described as a limp, almost straight mass of frizz! That being said, I'm sure you can imagine it can take a lot of caring for and heaps of styling and taming to get it looking and feeling healthy. Enter the Alchemy Oil Grapefruit Hair Remedy

Grapefruit Hair Remedy - Alchemy Oils*

This has been an absolute saviour for my hair. I'm no stranger to hair oils and have a couple that I've always enjoyed using, but this one has to be my new favourite, hands down. Like most oils, there are two recommended ways to use the product. The first being as a full 20 minute (or even overnight!) treatment before washing at the roots all the way down, and the second being after washing and conditioning, with a small amount applied to damp hair at the tips.
I've tried this out both ways, and have to say the latter has given me the best results. My hair can go greasy fairly quickly, and I found that when I used the oil on dry hair for around half an hour before washing, it seemed to feel greasy after just a day. It did look and feel a lot healthier and conditioned after washing, but I think it was just a bit too much for my fine hair.
Since then I've used the oil on the tips of my hair when damp, then go on to blow dry and style with my curlers. My hair feels glossy without being heavy, and the ends feel nourished rather than split from all the heat styling!
Another thing worth mentioning is the scent of this gorgeous product. That's mainly down to the citrusy Grapefruit oil, but it's also packed with four other oils; coconut, castor, almond and avocado. The product claims to 'promote growth, thicken hair and impart a lustrous shine'. Now I can't speak for the growth part as I haven't really been monitoring that, but I can definitely agree with the thickening and shine properties! I'll be continuing using this for a long time as a little goes a very very long way, and I'd happily recommend this to anyone looking for a new hair oil that does what it says on the label!

Have you tried this product yet? What's your favourite hair oil?
