Last week I was invited to the Mary & Milly boutique on Guildhall Street in Preston for a blogger event. The store has recently been opened up by the lovely Poppy, who I've known for a while now through doing the whole Vintage, Fashion & Craft Fair circuit. Poppy began Mary & Milly, a cute little fashion store just off the main High Street in Preston, after being inspired by her two Grandma's (and named the business after them too!)
Now if you're local to Preston, you'll know that it's not exactly known for it's fashion, so to have sweet boutiques like this popping up in the City Centre is a fashion lovers dream! Poppy explained how she's keen to bring quality fashion, top notch customer service and a brilliant shopping experience to the people of Preston, and I think she's hit the nail on the head with Mary & Milly perfectly.
The stock is all sourced from cool and quirky brands, and even some independent designers and craftspeople, and there's only a select few of each item, meaning you won't need to worry about spotting another girl in the same outfit as you! Unfortunately I couldn't stay at the event for too long, but I'd already eyed up a couple things on the Mary & Milly Facebook page (you can order through here too!) so I knew exactly what I wanted to get my hands on!! I picked up a stunning checked mini skirt which is perfect for my work wardrobe, but great dressed down too, plus I got a gorgeous cropped striped blouse which I sported for Dan's birthday meal last week!
It was great to have a mingle and a good natter with some familiar faces, and meet a bunch of lovely new people too, and what's more, it's really nice to meet likeminded people who are living and studying in Preston too! I love to see independent retailers thriving in our City and I've got a feeling that this is just the beginning for Poppy and her store.
If you haven't visited then I'd recommend putting it at the top of your list next time you're in Preston. You won't be disappointed by the rails of beautiful clothes and the brilliant service!
