One of my favourite things to collect, and something I have far too many of, it's nail colours. With the new season just around the corner, I thought I'd pick out some of my favourite colour to wear in Spring, from beautiful brights so pretty pastels. I've chosen fifteen shades from my ever growing collection that I turn to the most, with a couple of new additions thrown in for good measure. A lot of these are gel effect polishes, which are my absolute favourite kind as they last so much longer and have such a nice shine to them.
First up, the reds and oranges! These may all look pretty similar, but I promise they are all very different (the lighting just doesn't do them justice). In Spring and Summer I like to go for reds with more of a pink or orange tone, such as the Nails Inc Gel Effect in 'Beaufort Street' and Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in 'Pomegranate' which have pretty raspberry tones to them. Then there's Jessica Nail Colour in 'Confident Coral' and another Barry M one in 'Satsuma' for more of a coral, orangey tone. If I want to go full on bright I turn to Jessica's 'Tangerine' which is a bold orange, perfect when you've got a bit of a tan going on!
Now on to the softer pastel shades and candy colours that are perfect for this time of year. First up are another two from Jessica (can you tell I love this brand?) which are 'Sensual' and 'Happy Days', two pinky coral shades that are oh-so-sweet. Then if I want to go all out pink, I love this strawberry milkshake shade called 'Pink In The Park' from Maybelline's Super Stay line. For a deeper pink that's veering over to the purple side, I love Essie's 'Madison Ave-hue', one I wore to death this Summer just gone! For a lilac shade, the Nails Inc Gel Effect in 'Regents Place' is absolute perfection. (If you love this Nails Inc range as much as me, then here's a little tip; check out your local TKMaxx for these as mine has loads and they're half the usual price! Same goes for Jessica!)
Finally, here's a few blue and green beauties and of course some neutrals to round up my picks. First there's yet another Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in the shade 'Blueberry' which is such a pretty baby blue and perfect with a tan. Then, one of my absolute favourites, 'Queens Gardens' by Nails Inc which is the perfect mix of mint and turquoise and one I've raved about many times in the past. For something not quite as bright, there's Rimmel Super Stay in 'Mint For Life' which is a dreamy milky pastel shade.
Moving on to the neutrals (there's only two as neutral shades on pale skin don't always look the best!) I've chosen 'Lychee' by Barry M which is a creamy nude shade, then last but not least, The Body Shop's 'Frosting Fancy', a wearable white with the most subtle touch of pink!
Phew! That's a lot of nail polish (and that's not even a little bit of my collection...)! What shades would you recommend for Spring? I'm always on the look out for new colours and formulas to try, so hit me up with your suggestions below!
