CHECKMATE

Have you ever spotted something in a shop and thought 'I have to have that in my life, now'? Well that's what happened to me when I spotted this jacket hanging on the rails in River Island a few weeks ago. I naughtily took it to the fitting rooms to try it on and instantly knew it was for me. Luckily my birthday was coming up so I asked for it as a gift having previously struggled to think of something to ask for, and it has barely been off my back since I unwrapped it. It goes with so much, can be dressed up or down and is just the right weight to allow chunky knits and layering underneath. Pair this with my new tartan scarf and I have the perfect Autumn jacket/scarf combination to keep the cold weather at bay.

I was very kindly sent the scarf to review by Cashmere.com, an online shop specialising in cashmere goods from jumpers, cardigans, scarves and hats, to throws and blankets for the home. I've wanted a tartan scarf for a while now, so when I saw this one it was my obvious choice. 

I've never owned anything made from cashmere before, but I know how it's known for being ultra soft and great quality, so I had high expectations for this. I was so impressed when the scarf arrived, and surprised at just how soft it actually was! It's a lovely lightweight scarf, yet incredibly warm and has a gorgeous silky feeling to it. Although it has quite a loud tartan print to it, it surprisingly goes with a lot of things! I've worn it with various prints such as florals and stripes and love the way it looks with all of them. This is now a firm favourite of mine in my winter scarf collection, so I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of it!
