Dan is currently working away in York, so I hopped on to a train at the weekend and went to spend a day with him in my favourite UK city. I've loved York since my first visit, which must have been about ten years ago, and have been lots of times since then with family and with Dan, so even though it sucks that he's away from home, I was so excited when I realised I was free to go and visit him on his day off! We've done all the touristy things time and time again (tour of the Minster, ghost walks, museums etc, etc) so it was nice to go and just spend the day strolling around with him, taking in the sights and doing a spot of shopping. The weather was pretty cold and windy (wearing a skirt wasn't the best idea I've ever had), but it didn't stop the sun from shining! Here's some snaps we took on Sunday when we were out and about...
Top - H&M
Skirt - Primark
Jacket - Topshop
Boots - New Look
Bag - French Connection*
We had a lovely walk in to the city centre for a late breakfast, then headed off around the shops visiting some of my favourite haunts. We of course had to go and take a look at the Minster and Clifford's Tower, and stroll down the shambles before stopping off a few hours later for a spot of lunch. I got super spoilt in Zara and Urban Outfitters to an amazing Spring coat and a gorgeous new bag, both of which you'll see in an outfit post this weekend, I'm sure! We then walked back over the river to the hotel where Dan's staying and had a drink at the bar, before I had to reluctantly go and catch a train back home (mega sad face). It was lovely to go and visit York again, and we're already planning a proper trip there for the two of us, hopefully some time in Summer.
Have you visited York before? Would you recommend any must see spots there?
Gorgeous photos, and I just adore that skirt. Prettiest girl <3

Sounds like a great day and your skirt is lovely. I'm going to York next week for the first time and i'm really looking forward to it! :) xx
ReplyDeleteI went to York for the first time in January and loved it, what a beautiful place. So much to see, and to walk too. I went to most of these spots. We went to Brew and Browie coffee shops, which was decent.
